The project involved cutting through 20 inches of brickwork to form a new doorway to accommodate a new steel fire exit door. A new steel emergency exit staircase was fabricated to allow users to escape through the door and down the staircase in the event of a fire. The works involved operating in a very confined space meaning the staircase was installed in modular sections. The project also involved using a specialist insulated render system.
