Our Community Engagement!

As our External and Internal Refurbishment works come to completion on the Alberta Estate in SE17 our Resident Liaison Officers have been actively strengthening our community engagement by involving the pupils of the local Crampton Primary School with some planting – with a difference!

As the refurbishment works have taken place in their local area, Standage welcomed the opportunity to talk to the children about the impact of the works on their environment which included the dangers of scaffolding and the importance of hard hats. Keen to demonstrate how the hard hats can be recycled in different ways, the pupils were shown how to plant the hats and turn them into hanging baskets – which will attract the bees and look pretty in their school grounds!

To complete the works, Standage also repaired the metal fencing that surrounds the woodland area to provide security for the school and enable the pupils to access this area, safely.

Standage take their Social Responsibility seriously and wherever possible will engage with the community on projects where they are working. Earlier in the year the team donated and undertook the planting of some Mulberry trees in Albert Westcott Gardens and are planning more school visits across the Borough.
