Our History
1938
Standage & Company Limited is established by William H Standage, Alan G Chambers and Percy Mitchell “to carry on the trades or businesses of builders.”
1954
Alan Brain buys shares in Standage & Co. which is carrying out groundworks on behalf of London County Council.
1980
Alan Brain’s son, Mike, becomes Managing Director and transforms the business from local builder to recognised contractor in London’s public sector refurbishment market.
2008
Chris Brain, Mike’s son, takes over as Managing Director and develops the business into the private sector whilst maintaining good and recurring relationships with the public sector.
